Team Edge and competitors from Team Edge traveled down to Verona, WI to attend the Southern Wisconsin Open September 20th, 2009 to take home the Black Belt Team Sparring and Black Belt Sparring Grand Championship yet again.
Members of The Edge took home 11 First Place finishes as Mr. Joe Abboud's team took the Team Sparring Grand Championship for the time in a row. Master Nathan Thorn took the Sparring Grand Champion title again making it his 3rd GC title at this tournament in the last 4 visits. The Jr. Black Belt Team won Team Sparring with Mr. Michael Tomten, Mr. Eric Elert, and a RED Belt Zack Koppa. Sam & Sarah Nelson, Jackson & Candis Braatz, Sam Koppa, Eli Holper would all win their divisions with Kari Falaas winning two divisions on the weekend.
